Anticipation
Hello devoted readers,
A quick update to inform you my mother finally guilt tripped me enough that I'm currently in the process of finalizing the updates from the Fall of 2007. Not only am I almost done updating the written entries, I will be updating the entries with the photos that should have always accompanied the entries. I'm extremely thankful to have a streaming connection to the internet which makes uploads easy and fast.
My intentions are to continue with this blog for future travels, and not limit it to my semester abroad. I have too many blogs already, having one for travel just makes it easier on my sanity.
As far as anticipation, I'll be spending spring break in London and Prague. The first week (March 14-22) will be spent in London with the likes of Aimee, Amazing Eddy, and a lovely girl named Anna. Then back to Prague (March 22-30) for the second week to re-unite with the fabulous students of FAMU International. I look forward to adding more to this blog.
As for now, I'm spending my time working on my classes (Traditions of Opera, Screen Writing, & Film History of the Long Take), working on films, and spending time in New York City. Below is a photo of me with Jojo of Witches in Bikinis, a band I went to see with some friends on Valentine's Day. "Jojo" was the lead actress in a film I helped manage for my dear friend, Jen.
Enjoy my blonde phase and check back in April for new posts!
All Yours,
Really and Truly,
Meghan

The Whir of the Trams
This is meant to hold a spot for my final reflections on Prague.
I do love the sound of the trams...le sigh.
Well, as far as the mishap that occurred on set, I did my best to resolve it. I have a feeling the Czech's just decided to pin me with the damage once they knew I was getting a second roll of film. Whatever. I did the right thing, meh.
Once the shoot was done, I ended up helping with Alli, Josh and Jesse's shoot. They had 3 days to shoot, the first was outside. I'm actually in one shot, oi, I so cannot act, but I guess that doesn't matter. There shoot went pretty well, the first day we were next to the Charles Bridge and it was freezing. I actually left early because I had a class. The interiors were shot at Zac, Steve and Drew's place. I'm surprised we managed to pull off the party scene, though later we found out we didn't have enough coverage of the party. What a shocker.
The final week of the semester was definitely the most eventful of all. To be honest, I spent almost no time editing. There was no sound to foley and I found myself to burnt out by the whole experience to care how the cut looked. Oh well. Anyway, the first Sunday of this week I spent at Duende with Outi, Sila and Sandy. I had a pina colada and bonded with Outi and Sandy, it was great because I barely get a chance to talk to them. The next night, we had a Cinema Dance reunion and re-screened our films. Stephen and Luka keep telling me how "More Than I Can Bear" is there favorite. I'm still so mad I don't have a copy I can put online...arrrg. Maybe I'll remake it, ha. Anyhow, after that, we went to Duende with Pavel and a few of the guys from a previous Cinema Dance. They brought award winning absinthe and fukoff vodka. By the end of the evening, I'd had 2 Amaretto Sours (tasty!) and 2 shots of good absinthe. Outi realized it was hitting me when I stopped talking quickly. I bolted so I could get home before I passed out. I think I slept for 12 hours. The dream/nightmare I had was insane. I woke up 9 months pregnant and was terrified and furious, I didn't remember signing up for that! Anyhow, short version is that I ended up remembering the alcohol I consumed the past 2 days and lost the baby, I was relieved. Guess I'm not ready for motherhood.

Pit
I knew there was a reason I couldn't completely relax once shooting ended. Now I'm in the middle of that reason and it's making me feel like I have a pit in my stomach. During the shoot, an LCD viewer broke when it fell off the camera. Though it was an accident, it was mostly my fault, so I took responsibility. No big deal. However, when the shoot ended, I later found out that something had been broken without anyone's knowledge. Enter the huge mess I'm not in the middle of. My production manager, who barely speaks English called Jesse, someone from my program who was on the set when this lens may have broken. He told Jesse that glass broke and he needed someone to be liable, Jesse said Filip (my production manager) could use his name because Filip assured Jesse everything would be fine, he just needed a liable party. Not as clean cut as we all thought it would be. Filip took Jesse's favor as claiming responsibility for the broken item. Now I'm trying to sort this whole thing out, because Jesse didn't touch any lenses, he barely touched anything the whole time because Filip had assembled a full crew without my needing anyone from the AU program.
I'm so tired of being stressed out about this project. I just want to finish and go home. On that note, I'll be home Dec. 16th fairly early in the afternoon. I can't wait.
